What I'm doing is integrating the forum into my websites template. I've taken a rather simple approach and just built a table around the content in the main.tpl. Right above the forum content, I've used <pun_include "boxes.php">. Boxes.php is a php file that echos out php based features of my site, such as a schedule, calendar, and recent posts. Each feature is placed within one of three boxes atop the page. All of this is done in the boxes.php file, which is uploaded to the forum/includes/user/ directory.

When I load the forum, nothing appears. It's as if the file wasn't even included. There's no error, no html structure of the boxes, nothing. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but was wondering if perhaps it's not even possible to do what I'm trying to do.

It's 5:15 in the morning so if I've left out any information, just post and I'll be more than happy to provide you with what you need.

I recently redesigned my website and its forums but I stumbled upon a bit of a problem: I can't get my footer to display.

I'm pretty sure it's nothing to do with the actual footer. In fact, I can't get anything to display underneath what's there now.

I am currently having problems on my PunBB 1.2.17 forum.

The problem is that my when a user selects "Forgot password" and types in their e-mail address to submit it the output error recieved is:

An error was encountered
Error: Unable to send e-mail. Please contact the forum administrator with the following error message reported by the SMTP server: "530 Authentication required ".

I have tried to google up some stuff but have had no luck.

I am using a domain at GoDaddy that is supposed to be sending the username-password to my the users that request the "forgot password".

Any help is greatly appreciated,

*EDIT* Ok I seem to have got it to work by leaving it blank so that it uses the local mail program but the problem is that it doesn't actually send a new password to the email address. It says that it has sent it but it hasn't:

An e-mail has been sent to the specified address with instructions on how to change your password. If it does not arrive you can contact the forum administrator at *****@*****.com.

The problem is as follows:
When I upload this for a site for itselfe (strait HTML and not PunBB) it works. Incorporated with PunBB the transparent png background turns white and the whole thing is far from smooth.

Now, my PHP is a little fuzzy, but can I call a function within a string literal?  I see it being done here with handle_url_rag, but in my case, it's not calling the function, only (and expected) the variable is being used.

I just downloaded XAMPP and installed it, but it uses PHP 5.3 and set_magic_quotes_runtime() was taken out of that version, so how can I fix this? Is there a way to put XAMPP back to PHP 4?

I put ob_start() at the top of header.php but that didn't fix the header problem.

Please help, it's messing up my forum.

Now i'm trying (and i didn't find yet) variables for:
1 - post url  ... maybe 'f.redirect_url'? to send the link by mail
2 - username that change the post ... maybe $pun_user['username']?

After i find that i want to send an "hidden to user" mail to administrator/moderator using php mail function when i confirm the submit button on edit.php.

1. 'Base URL' in Admin/Options is not correctly set.
2. You are not visiting the forum by navigating to the URL entered in 'Base URL'. You must visit the forum by entering the 'Base URL' in the address bar of your browser. If 'Base URL' is http://a.b.c, you must enter that in the address bar (not http://localhost or http://192.168.0.15).
3. You are browsing the forum through a proxy or firewall of some sort that is stripping HTTP_REFERER from all requests. Norton Personal Firewall and Kerio Personal Firewall 4 are the only ones I know of so far that strip HTTP_REFERER by default. Popup/ad stoppers are also known to do this in some cases (most of them don't though). See this post for info on how to setup Norton to circumvent the problem with Norton.

The error should only occur for moderators and administrators. The reason for the error is that PunBB, upon receiving form data, checks from where the data was submitted and if that page doesn't match 'Base URL' + the name of the correct script, it won't allow it. The check is there for a very good reason, trust me :-)
