Re: PunBB 1.2.17

Could the users have deleted their messages?
There are no outstanding security vulnerabilities as of 1.2.17, so if that's what you're using, then I doubt it's due to that.

Re: PunBB 1.2.17

hi all

I updated the MyBestBB mod to the punbb 1.2.17 updates.

Everything ran fine but I could not understand why the following lines :

411: // Display all the categories and forums
412: $result = $db->query('SELECT c.id AS cid, c.cat_name, f.id AS fid, f.forum_name, f.disp_position FROM '.$db->prefix.'categories AS c INNER JOIN '.$db->prefix.'forums AS f ON c.id=f.cat_id ORDER BY c.disp_position, c.id, f.disp_position') or error('Unable to fetch category/forum list', __FILE__, __LINE__, $db->error());
413:

disappeared from the admin_forums.php file ( http://punbb.org/download/hdiff/hdiff-1 … .2.17.html )

these lines seem to be necessary to display the forums list nop ?

my integrating diff in MyBestBB pre-mod is here : http://trac.ww7.be/trac.ww7.be/changeset/104

is there anything I missed concerning this ?

Im the only admin.

Have you checked with your host to make sure they aren't cocking something up, i.e: bad backups/restoration?

Re: PunBB 1.2.17

Maybe he has some type mod installed that does that,

Unless he's running something from cron, they all require manual intervention/participation, that I know of.

Re: PunBB 1.2.17

Oh ok.

Re: PunBB 1.2.17

neofutur: Look harder at the hdiff. The lines moved.
MattF: Good point, that's certainly possible

Yes that's possible, hi.
In fact, the host moved the forum from one server to another.

The forum is ok now and i like the new default skin, specially when you quote someone and you see it clearly separated from your post.

thank you

Re: PunBB 1.2.17

Hello, if I do this upgrade will I lose my colour scheme etc? Im running 1.2.14
Also how bad are the security holes in the version I have? Do I really need to do this upgrade?
These updates seem very messy for novice like me & not explained very well. I have downloaded the files & am still none the wiser where they should go.

'Then remove it from // the root directory.$update_from = array('1.2', '1.2.1', '1.2.2', '1.2.3', '1.2.4', '1.2.5', '1.2.6', '1.2.7', '1.2.8', '1.2.9', '1.2.10', '1.2.11', '1.2.12', '1.2.13', '1.2.14', '1.2.15', '1.2.16');$update_to = '1.2.17'; define('PUN_ROOT', './');@include PUN_ROOT.'config.php';// If PUN isn't defined, config.php is missing or corrupt or we are outside the root directory if (!defined('PUN'))    exit'

I read this & I am lost sad

"Hello, if I do this upgrade will I lose my colour scheme etc? Im running 1.2.14"
No, styles are separate

"Also how bad are the security holes in the version I have? Do I really need to do this upgrade?"
Bad. Yes.

Replace the references to 1.2.16 on that page to 1.2.17 and everything should be clear to you.

And what you quoted up there seems to be the PHP code for the update script.

Re: PunBB 1.2.17

Hello everyone, I have a very minor remark. It's something I can't understand, so maybe I am just not seeing this right.
In the hdiff from 1.2.16 to 1.2.17, in [punbb-1.2.17/upload/include/functions.php] there is this line:

// Prefix with o_base_url (unless there's already a valid URI)

I know it's just a title and won't affect the code, but where is there an URI instead of URL? Was that a typo? I noticed this in some wordpress themes as well, and I just can't get why could this typo be universal... If it's one.

If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always gotten.

Re: PunBB 1.2.17

URI = Unified Resource Identifier
URL = Unified Resource Link

(well, not sure about the Unified.)

68

Re: PunBB 1.2.17

A URI includes both locators (URL) and names (URN).

Re: PunBB 1.2.17

@elbekko:
It's "uniform".

@Jarkko:
Thanks. I just wasn't quite sure about the relationship between the two. This answered my question.

If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always gotten.
