Why not just set to 0 seconds.
I find it frustrating to use the redirect so I always set it to 0 but punbb doesn't advise this. Why?

What if the message on the redirect is an error? You wouldn't know if you set the time to 0.
What kind of error?
The errors I'm aware of are shown regardless of the redirect message
Common errors like empty message, etc. are shown before you post, but if you've modded your files, some PHP warnings could be "skipped" and not shown to you.
I guess you could just set it to 0 with no problems...
Yeah it hasn't been a problem at 0. But at least now I know why that feature exists. Cheers ![]()
It is simply for the purpose of providing a visual indication/clarification that the requested action has been carried out.
