Topic: Best Anti-Virus, -Malware Tool?
I like prevx edge. (http://prevx.com/)
What is your recommendation?
Also what is best to get rid of infections?
Thx.
Unfortunately no one can be told what PunBB is - you have to see it for yourself.

There is no best option per se. Your best option is to run several products alongside each other. Relying upon one alone will always miss something. That one you've posted the link to seems to be a general cover everything type programme, (with misleading statistics, might I add). I'd personally suggest running tools which are designed for each specific area. They tend to be far better in their specific field.
I was wondering about those statistics. Kind of give the impression they catch everything and competitors don't catch X'XXX.
They all say in their installation options not to run others alongside I thought? Some don't even let you install if they've detected certain other known products.(McAfee?)

Yeah. Those statistics they've posted seem mostly to be compared to specialised scanners though, so obviously they will only detect what they are designed for. Plus, they don't give the reverse figures of what they miss which other products catch. Those figures are purely marketing hype.

Not if you run the decent products they won't. I wouldn't touch Norton/McAfee with a bargepole, (or anyone elses for that matter).
Anti-virus wise, ClamAV/ClamWin is a nice cross platform option. Spyware, there are plenty of options for.
i use norton internet security 2009 with spyware terminator, and already installed windows defender.
check this site for comparison: http://www.av-comparatives.org/
eset is also good. but norton 2009 is completely different from older versions. its the Best.

I agree with her, I've been using Avast for a couple of months.
Avast + malwarebytes anti malware and a little bit of common sense
where can I get this Avast? I'm interested on that. I'm not that techie person. Pls guide me. Thanks!
I use ESET Smart Security.
This was suggested by one of our tech guys, but obviously, it's not as strict as Avira, as eventually a few bugs got through it.
Me, I prefer AVAST. I like its boot-time scan feature that scan and fix the system prior to loading the OS. Been using it for quite sometime now (the Home Ed.)
Can anyone suggest one for mac?
I'm using prevx and am VERY happy with it. It's the best I've seen so far. Previously I had Norton Suite and various free AV programs and they didn't always protect me nor got rid of every infection.
i use Kaspersky 7.2 and it has been working reasonably well for me
