Topic: www forum vs simply forum

What is the difference between http://www.forum.example.com and http://forum.example.com? Does it matter which one to use?

Re: www forum vs simply forum

Doesn't matter a jot in truth. Personally though, I've never been a fan of the www prefix. I just redirect that to the bare domain.

Nope does not matter.
But I would set up your domain so that it can only use 1 of them.

Re: www forum vs simply forum

yep using any one of them is good for SEO

and also the (www) url are some times load slow when the server has problems (at least that happens with me)

I prefer non-www for subdomain big_smile
But if you wanna choose www[.]forums, simply redirect 301 from non-www to www by using .htaccess or php script to check _SERVER["SERVER_NAME"] smile
