Topic: Possible bug with extern.php output

I have noticed that when a post title is truncated in the extern.php script I seem to get a strange output where the text is cut off.. you can see this in example at my site - http://www.shedbass.net/

The text in the latest forum posts reads

SAM DUNKIN PRESENTS; MY DOLLAS DOUBLE BAK & V…
Posted by KnoName

with the highlighted text being erroneous.

Is this a bug or something I have over looked?

Re: Possible bug with extern.php output

In case with a long message (more than value of the FORUM_EXTERN_MAX_SUBJECT_LENGTH constant), it will be truncated and the '…' symbol will be added to the string.

Re: Possible bug with extern.php output

I assumed this would be the case and '.....' would be used but it seems on my forum to be using V… instead? any suggestions?

Re: Possible bug with extern.php output

How exactly do you include extern.php? The symbol '…' in UFT-8 encoding is used in the extern.php. And the encoding of your site is iso-8859-1. That's why this symbol is displayed wrong.
