Topic: Keyword Search Highlighting

Not sure if this has been requested before.  I did a search on this subject and came up empty.  I was wondering if anyone thought it may be a good idea to highlight/boldface keywords in the threads listed in after the search query is performed.  (e.g.  I searched for the word "foo", and the results listed 10 possible threads with the word foo in them.  Upon clicking on one of the search result links, the keyword is made to stand out for each post on the page.

Makes searching much more efficient IMO.

Thoughts?

Re: Keyword Search Highlighting

lol.  I guess I used the wrong words to search.  I guess I should learn how to use a search engine before I go making requests for search features!  smile

I read some of the posts, and I think I will just stick with CTRL + F.  I dont want to clutter the code.  I like the minimalist approach.

Thanks for the quick response smile

Re: Keyword Search Highlighting

Something that we haven't brought up regarding the highlight thing is the fact that I have yet to see a forum application that has managed to include a search term highlighter without it having at least one security problem related to it. E.g. the notorious santy worm utilized a vulnerability in phpBB's highlighting code.
