Re: adsense ads

Just add the google Javascript code to your template (include/template/main.tpl).

Re: adsense ads

Anyone care to share their experience of google ads? Can they cover your hosting costs?  I realise this will depend on your traffic and type of site but I'd just be interested to see if people think they are worth having. Personally, I always ignore them...

Re: adsense ads

Marvin, sorry I cant help you but I'm interested in the same question. I always ignore Google ads but I know someone that makes $4000 a year from them (it is a huge space website approved by NASA though). Would anyone here recommend Google Ads?

That's a good question to ask, rather than "can they feed my family" ? smile

The answer is: Provided that you have a good  and stable amount of visitors and your host doesn't rip you off- yes, they can.
But don't expect much more than that. There are rumours out there but I wouldn't trust them.
We get around 60 Euros a month for 300 unique visits a day. Of course this depends on the value of the ads and on the topic of your sites. Some of ours are tourism related where ads tend to be expensive (and pay well on the other hand).
So don't take this number as a rule.

Re: adsense ads

i do know how to put ads but i also wana make it look like the site i mentioned above

in short how do i make that table wch uses the stylesheet of the forum also

Re: adsense ads

it depends ALOT on where the ads are too, having ads at the bottom like here earns you very little compared to ads at the top of the page.

Re: adsense ads

I have a few sites with ads and overall, I have a positive cash flow. It's not much, but I pocket a little bit of money after hosting and domain fees. I have 1 site that I am projecting to make less than $10 US for the year. The traffic to the site is fairly decent, but it doesn't generate many clicks and when it does, they average about $0.05 each.

Re: adsense ads

I just noticed a problem with the google ads on my site. I'm not sure if this is caused by punbb or the google code, but take a look http://www.cia-alumni.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=7. If you scroll the mouse wheel over the ads, it will scroll the ad as if it were too big for the area. There is also an off colored bar at the bottom of the ad block after scrolling. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? I don't seem to be having this problem with my non punbb websites.

While searching the web for punbb and adsense, I came across another punbb site http://www.costper.com that is having this problem. I contacted the admin, but haven't received a response yet.

Re: adsense ads

I win about between 200 & 300$ per month with Google and they paid at the end of the month. Any problem.

Sorry...Being stupid here... but 'WIN'... what do you mean win?

I can understand why some would have Google Ads... but personally I would rather not have them, any site is so much cleaner without them.

Re: adsense ads

I've had great experiences with Google AdSense. They pay on time. And with moderate traffic the ads easily pay for hosting and then some.

With about 300 visitors per day and a click-through rate of abour 1.5-2% I bring in about $2 per day ($60 per month, $720 year.) Hosting only costs me $6 per month (and that's for three different sites). That's not a lot of money, but it beats the nothing I would otherwise recieve.

Google ads are the least obtrusive ads I know of. If users complain, then tell them to screw off since they don't pay for your bandwidth.

You could always offer them a subscription account that removes the ads, but it would cost them a few bucks a month.
