Topic: The PunBB Newsletter

At the request of a lot of people, there is now something called the PunBB Newsletter. I will be using this newsletter as a means of notifying subscribers of new releases and other newsworthy events. Obviously, your e-mail address will be kept strictly confidential and I will not share it with any third party or include it in some evil advertisement scheme. Trust me.

Cool, just signed up wink

Re: The PunBB Newsletter

Thanks. Is it integrated with the forums, or separate?

Re: The PunBB Newsletter

If I access http://punbb.org/newsletter.php I receive this error:

Precondition Failed

The precondition on the request for the URL /newsletter.php evaluated to false.

Re: The PunBB Newsletter

Works fine for me.

Re: The PunBB Newsletter

the form is just hard to use the mouse to click on the boxes.
and the newsletter could be a lot better to think about it

Re: The PunBB Newsletter

Owl: I think it has to do with your email address (due to mod_security) tongue
ie: enter "poker" as your email and you get that error

Re: The PunBB Newsletter

Yep, precondition failed usually means that the mod_security is a little too nervous.

Re: The PunBB Newsletter

Though I have suscribed to this newsletter, I did not receive any e mail notifying me there is a new release.
It has worked to notify me for 1.2.8 but not for 1.2.9

Ludo,

Re: The PunBB Newsletter

I'm assuming he'd send the notice out a little later (given that the whole problem was only revealed a few hours ago).

Re: The PunBB Newsletter

I haven't sent it out yet. The reason for this is that I am still looking for a free bulk e-mail application. I have so far found one, QIOS Pelican, but for some very, very odd reason, it can only send out HTML e-mail (and we all know how evil that is). I can't believe there isn't a single free mass mailer out there.
