rss or atom feed WITH brief message / content too.

I figured out the external.php thing with "active" variable and stuff.  Also dug up a bunch of old posts about rss, but they dont seem to answer what I want.

On the front page of my site I'm going to include posts, pretty much like a blog.  But all that shows is the title.  Every RSS feed I ever used/read contains the title and a brief description, some with the whole page in the description (image tags and all).  I would like a brief message to appear too, not just the title.  Perhaps every word before the first paragraph tag, or 300 characters, etc.

In fact, pretty much the same way punbb.org does it on the front page.
