Well, you can always choose to block your site from BugMeNot (since it sounds like your site falls under the second criteria for blocking).

Good point Smartys. big_smile

After reading axa and Smartys' comments I've changed my views about Bugmenot. In the past I've banned accounts I've found on there that were reg'd on my website and I've monitored referrals from that website. All my sites are completely open to the public and the only restrictions I have is no guest posting. A guest can see everything on all my sites and I don't spam my users or sell their emails to spammers so there is no reason for anyone to use an account from there on my sites.

No comment... (I'll post my thoughts later tonight)

Textdrive/Joyent I believe.

If you post a request over at PunRes.org I'm sure you'll get offers from very qualified people. PunBB has a very talented following that is more than willing to help someone out. In fact you might even find a skin already done that is close to your liking.

We have a local intranet now, it's IIS and an old NT 4.0 machine with all static html/asp pages running with an access back end. I don't want to hassle with it. I also don't want to give our IT guys any reason to say "It can't be done." or "We don't have the resources to do what James is suggesting." to our bosses who are pretty computer stupid. Besides, they have much bigger issues to work out right now and this project would be just a distraction or put on the back burner indefinitely. Truth is, they're friggin lazy and get away with it because they spit jargin at the head guys to cover up the fact they don't know shit. EXAMPLE: When I suggested we host it ourselves, the head IT guy told me that "We're a M$ shop and all the software you're suggesting is PHP/MySQL based which is run on Linux which we don't use." I couldn't convince him otherwise to save my life. So I said "Fine... I'll build it. You deal with MY boss when I'm done."

*sigh*

Yes, you all have one IP, unless your internet traffic is channeled over multiple connections.

Well all I know is we connect to a hub/server(local) then to the world, not directly to the net. In fact I think we connect to our parent companies' network THEN to the net. Unless I heard my IT guy's description wrong. Could be possible since I glazed over about 1 minute into our conversation.

Do all of the computers in my companies' building connect to the net with 1 IP or do all the terminals have their own IP?  The IP on my machine in my network connection says 10.40.x.x... Isn't that a local/private number?

The reason I ask is I'm setting up an INTRANET for my company and I'd like to use a hosted site(as oposed to setting up a local machine) and set it so ONLY CERTAIN IPs get access to the site. Setting up 70+ restrictions would suck. If I only had to allow access to one IP and deny all others that would make life much easier.

I asked my IT guy but he goes on for too long and doesn't really answer my question. My wife tells me it's like telling me how to build the clock when all I want to know is what time it is.

Indeed. Happy New Year folks! Give us a few more days and we should have 1.3 beta up for grabs.

AWESOME!

1 suggestion: I would rather MakeStyle create a folder in it's own dir and store the style/files/folders I make there. Not everyone has a localhost setup and use a live setup for dev. I have both and use my test website for development and not my localhost. Or is that what editing the config does?.... tongue

Same to you and everyone else.

Passwords are not either.. But that's very common among most script converters.

1st: have a subject title a bit more descriptive.

I would say no. Trac is more of a project management script than a support script if I'm right.

OH! The ability to make tickets either private or public would be swell.

Keep me informed, I'm very interested.

Add stats/graphs and custom post fields and I'll donate some coin for your efforts. I've been looking at support scripts for my Work's intranet for the past month. I've landed on either Sitepanel or H2desk. eSupport is coming up also.

Dr.Jeckyl: Why would they care if Rickard said that though?

That's what I don't know because I haven't been privy to any of the convos between them(IF there ever has been any wink ).

ah: not as far as I know (although would they be inquiring? wouldn't they just create their forum?)

Like I mentioned in my first post; maybe Rickard wanted support centralized. But who knows... I'll take them at their word(in those 2 links) that they go by how many people have it listed in their profiles.

Oh I knew you guys didn't have control, I was more interested in if the TAZ admins/Sandman has inquired about it before really.

What's the deal with TAZ and the lack of PunBB there as a featured forum software? They have a separate forum for UseBB(last activity in it was 07-09-07) which in my opinion, and many others' I'd assume, a much less used system. Has TAZ approached Rickard about this in the past? PunBB gets mentioned there quite often. I think that both sites could benefit from including PunBB more. I could see wanting to keep all support centralized here but those forums are used for much more than support.

Just thought I'd ask...
