Works fine on my system, I'm currently allowing members to try it out.

Two features would be nice tho:
userlist (who's online in the chat)
moderation (allowing mods/admins to delete messages)

I'm waiting for the W850, its out in the summer.
It's gonna be a leap in technology, not just an upgrade like the 810.
So I'm sticking with my lovely 750i for now!

Article about the 850, it's gonna rule:

The question should be:
Who needs an iPod when you can have a brilliant mp3-player on your phone?

If you use the start/stop button on the side of the 750i, it resumes play from where you stopped it.

I've never had problems with spam on my punbb forums either.

Be careful about how you do that. There is a fine line between promoting your site, and annoying spamming your site everywhere. If done properly it works well, however spamming everywhere will simply give your site a bad reputation.

Well, of course. I didn't mean "spam some forums", I meant that he should get in touch with other webmasters and exchange links and such.
But it's important to get in touch with potential users at the sites where they currently hang out.
Showing good internet behaviour I consider a given smile

I'm unable to download this, is the server down?

if anyone can email it to me, I'd be happy smile

The first problem is getting visitors. Work hard on getting the word out, spread the word on other sites and search engines.
You have to figure out where your visitors should come from, they won't drop out of the sky.

Then, you need to make them stick around.
You need to show that you have something to offer, so people keep coming back.
My keywords for a successful community is:
-Updated content
-Interesting topics
-User friendliness

If I delete a post on the forum, say on page 3 of a topic, I'm automatically redirected to page 1. Then I have to click 3 to go back to page 3 and continue the work. It can be frustrating if I want to delete 3-4 posts on the same page (flooding) and don't feel like using the multi-delete function.
Wouldn't it make more sense if page 3 loaded after deleting a post?

Anyway this can be changed? It can be done in a mod, but I think this should be a feature of punbb, not a modification.

If you choose to display Post instead of Thread in the normal search, you will most likely find what you're looking for.

Easily.
I've got over 100 people online simultainously often, some times more than double that even, it doesnt affect the speed at all.

We have integrated CPG and PunBB : the best solution is not to use a bridge, but to create table inside punBB users with all the specificities of CPG. We wait 1.4 to purpose an alternative of the actual CPG system (very very very very very LOUD)

Rod, how's the progress on this project, and where will u release it?
I checked out some of the navigation systems you used as examples, and I loved it.

I think I could be forced to move away from Firefox after many years as a loyal users. The new Opera is off the hook!
Integrated torrent-downloads, ad-block (much better than Firefox), and an improved Widget-system (extension-programs).
The ad-block is cool as hell. You simple choose "block content" and then start clicking on all the content you want to block.

Looks extremely promising, I'm gonna try it out further in the next few weeks.

How can I make the message "There are new messages" appear on the front-page of my site?

Thanks Elbekko, worked great smile

I would like to display the total number of visitors, not only members plus guests.
In other words I want it to say:
There are 30 visitors online now: 15 registered users and 15 guests.
How can I achieve this?

This worked fine, except for one problem.
When a user hasn't chosen an option, the profile-page displays the Sex and Location on the same line.
View example: http://www.adolfsen.no/parsing.jpg

Any idea how this can be fixed, I'm guessing it's really simple!

Just a question about performance.
My site has some pretty big threads, some with more than 10.000 posts in one thread (for real..)
Is this bad for performance, or should I just leave them be?

I know that some software can't handle large threads, but it seems to be working fine on my site.
Any input on this?

Would it be possible to work out a little guide for intergration in general? Which files require changes, and which variables to start with?

I'm not good with php, but I can usually find my way if I just have a start and a goal.
I've just created a new website, a wiki using a wiki-engine called "Wikka Wakka". I would like to use a PunBB forum for discussions regarding the wiki-articles, so of course it would be great if the registered Wiki-users didn't have to register a second time for the forum.

Feel free to check out my site, www.priince.com, if you wish.

Can anyone give me an idea of how much work is needed for a user-integration, and a little push in the right direction as to where I should start smile

No antivirus here. I got a virus back in 98 or something (a boot sector virus), but that's it. No viruses, worms or malware. My recipe is:

1. Enable automatic updates.
2. Make sure Windows built-in firewall is enabled.
3. Avoid Internet Explorer and Outlook [Express].
4. Avoid [insert malware infested P2P app here].
5. Don't run .exe/.pif/.bat/.cmd/etc files you get as attachments from people you don't know smile

Voila!

You can get virus via java-scripts as well. I got a virus through Firefox just last month. Of course, I had a virus-program running, but that didn't help much. So maybe you're right tongue

I got everything back up and running with only half an hours work, just had to find the correct files in my backup and upload via ftp.
I've got my webhost trying to find the culprit, and I'll report back when and if I get any definite answers on the method used.
Thanks for the help and feedback.

The attachment mod folder was outside the root, yes.

I'm going to look at the access log a bit later, I'm at work now so my hands are a bit tied.

Yeah, I know how to use the panel and phpmyadmin.
I'm not worried about restoring this, cause that's gonna be pretty easy, but I wish I could understand how they got in.
I doubt it's a punbb-problem, cause the database would have been affected. Seems like I have an opening somewhere. Perhaps the attachment mod, since it gives the users write-access..

Thanks for the comments so far. I think there is no doubt I've been hacked, but it's strange that only the forum was affected. My Coppermine gallery and all html-files are still working fine.
No defacing on the front-page or other typical hacker-messages.
Strange thing hmm
