Hi,

I checked out the attachment extension via svn, and one question:

Attachment upload directory which configured and stored in SQL database is absolute path, e.g. /home/punbb/extensions/punbb_attachments/, why not use relative path like 'extensions/punbb_attachments/'?

I renamed my forum folder name, and it didn't work, fixed after i changed path in database.

I am sorry I yet not uploaded the latest edition. I will upload after implementing hash tag feature. in the new release u will get a box where u can mention which forums are to skip. you can mention all forums ID except these two. that will do this purpose.

That's great, sir.

Thanks for your great work. i will test when you release the new version. smile

Great extension.

How can it update new topics/posts from one specify forum instead of all forums? like news/announcements forum.

Category
  |- Forum 1: News & Announcements
  |- Forum 2: General Tech Support

I just want to make it post new topics in "News & Announcements" forum to twitter.

And it'd be way too much information in a small space.

I don't think so.

One forum one row, it waste too much space.

Like www.discuz.net , it nest 3 forums in a row, looks good.

And you'd have to give up a few columns (posts, topics, last post) to fit them.

Why we must give up these columns?

Horizontally:

+-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------+
| Category Name
+-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------+
| Forum1 Name               | Forum2                     | Forum3                     |
| Topics: 111. Replies: 222 | Topics: 222.  Replies: 333 | Topics: 222.  Replies: 333 |
| Last post: elbekko | Last post: elbekko | Last post: elbekko |
+-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------+

Hi, all.

Is it possible to display forums in the same category horizontally?

Classic:

+------------------+
| Category Name    |
+------------------+
| Forum1           |
+------------------+
| Forum2           |
+------------------+

Horizontally:

+-------------------------------+
| Category Name                 |
+----------+--------+-----------+
| Forum1   | Forum2 | Forum3    |
+----------+--------+-----------+
| Forum4   | Forum5 | Forum6    |
+----------+--------+-----------+

Thanks smartys, i will try it asap.

hi all.

I am using punbb-1.2.14 now, and the host verder doesn't provide local smtp server.
I wrote the gmail smtp server information in the 'Options' board, but it said gmail need 'STARTTLS'.

Smartys said 'With SSL configured it's a one-line change to get SMTP with gmail working', but how can i do?
Does anyone had hacked the 'email.php' file?

Thanks. smile

Another thing, the 'SMTP password' filed is unencrypted.
The html 'input' type  isn't 'password', does it safe?

Hi all,

My forum files were hold in directory 'http://www.XXX.org/bbs/', and i put '12_to_1214_update.php' in '/bbs' too, was it correct?

thanks.

I read this document: http://punbb.org/docs/install.html, then follow the steps:
* backup;
* upload and override;
* copy 12_to_1214_update.php to the root directory of my forum(http://www.XXX.org/bbs/);
* run it through the browser;

But it just display 'This file must be run from the forum root directory.', can anybody tell my what's wrong with it?

Thanks very much. smile

I modified these files, and it works well now:

include/functions.php
lang/English/common.php

My forum uses 'English' as default language, but main users are chinese, it works well.

First of all, thanks to punbb team, it is great. smile

My forum(http://www.bsdlife.org/bbs) is powered by punbb-1.2.13(upgraded from 1.2.12), use English version, the main members are chinese.

The 'bug' is when i typed something in "Profiles-->Location", punbb can not display them correcttly, the last several charsets will be changed.

For example, i inputed '???????', it just display '???&#3000'. You see, it is not correct.

The same situation happened at "Administration --> Options --> Board title".

Is it a BUG?

Thanks for your reply. smile
