Topic: I need serious help - punbb virgin here

Hey guys,

I have my forum running just fine, but I really want to add a theme to it. I have NO idea where to start and I know html really well, but I don't know where to modify the css to make the changes (where do I add the images for a banner, etc.).

Anyway, can anyone please help me? I know you are all experts, so please oblige.

Thanks,
Saucy

PunRes has styles, and the wiki has info on adding a banner image. smile

Thanks Matt F. Do I just re-upload the style.css into my root directory after the modification has been made?

Re: I need serious help - punbb virgin here

Just upload the styles into the style dir, keeping the directory structure when you upload the files. If you look on here or PunRes, there is a plugin, (I believe), for managing styles and uploading them. Saves having to do it manually. smile

To start, there's also the excellent SpinkBB.

Oh my, this is complicated. I realize this is as easy as it gets, but after a long day I don't think I can manage it. Is there a place I can have someone do it for me?

Re: I need serious help - punbb virgin here

hey guys,

Ok, I'm getting on these changes now. Does anyone know the horizontal pixel dimension for a banner to take up the top of the page length wise?

Also, I want to change the font size, and have links open up in a new window. Where do I do this?

It depends on the resolution of a user's monitor and the size of his or her browser window.

The Punres wiki (wiki.punres.org) has instructions on how to do so.

You can use the CSS "font-size" property for that. Where you place it in your CSS depends on what specific text you'd like to be that size (i.e. navigation link text, post body text, signature text, etc.).

Looking for a certain modification for your forum? Please take a look here before posting.

You can also try my MOD, so you'll open links in new windows only if links are not pointing to your forum:
