What do you think of this? (width is reduced and font reduced)

It basically just takes out all the author info and leaves it accessible  in as link (the username)

If you think, hm.... worth a try?

Found something that would still need adjusting the way I've done it. The color background for original author info is still on left - coming right in a ungood way....

But I guess point of trial was to see if there is not interest to have style where author info is "just a click away" - I really don't need to see someones avatar 1 million times if I'm regular to a board, or when they registered.  That was my rational for trying smile

EDIT:
but the online or offline info I should probably add as an icon  ON  OFF  GREEN RED ... something like that. that is useful i find sometimes... (knowing if someone wants to be seen as online)

I like what you have done and agree with your ideas APART from the avatar. I think the avatar is important as it gives identity in a stronger way than a simple username.

ah yes. i see what you mean. plus it would not cost that much space  keeping it either...
should be fairly easy to get the avatar to reappear smile
then just push the username right, and the date right

or like in your topic: just move the date to bottom....

just takes a while playing with the css big_smile  but at least one can do it all there i believe (hope)

Not many people think like you and I. I've struggled to find someone who think it is a good idea. I spent ages trying to find the code to change, but gave up in the end sad

This is a Mod for making all but the
Avatar in a author info post-body disappear

INSTALLATION

1. Unpack
2. Upload file  'style.css' to your
   style folder (i.e. style/oxygen/)
3. Upload file 'viewtopic.php' - or
   (if you have customized viewtopic)
   Find: the (2) posts and registered lines   
   and // them
4. Depending on your 'style_cs.css' you'll
   need to modify background color if like me
   you just have one background color you
   won't need to do any modifying.
5. Enjoy.
