I believe Eugene only wants post editing disabled in his archive forum, not globally.

However, I think closing the [threads] would prevent editing. Alternatively, you could modify edit.php to have the desired behavior.

However, a quick test shows that the users can still edit their own posts.

Is this behaviour by design and how to change it so that no edits are allowed in read-only forums?
