To enable guests to post on comments, which is a handy feature of a blog for sure, you may have to go down the path of captchas etc before guests can post a comment, like other blog tools.

A pain, but necessary otherwise you will have admin headaches and spam takeovers of blog comments.

Yes, it's currently allowing guests to comment on blogs in the 'general' category and not allowing guests to create their own blog in any category. I may have to disable guests comments though as some idiot going by the name futzer first left a comment asking about span and then left another one, since removed, which was spam.

Aha, that's sensible. So is your sample site http://www.soonotes.com/bbs/blog.php?cid=3&c_id=3 setup to allow guests to post?

Not sure how that's any different from a forum though. By default guests comments are not allowed.

Nice mod, but admins will need to be aware of the comment spam issues involved in opening up blog comments to the world.

Glad to hear that bingiman. There's definately alot of steps to follow in the read me but copy and paste has never been a hard thing. A text editor with line numbers sure helps.
