I have a site with registered users.  I would like to bridge my user db to punbb's. (I could, but would like to avoid renaming and reorganizing my table for use by punbb.  I can copy my users to the punbb table easy enough, and keep it updated.  I then just need a way to auto-login to punbb with the correct user whan someone logs into my site.  Has anyone done this, and if so is there a walkthrough to help me avoid disaster?
I guess my steps will be
1) populate punbb''s usertable from mine
2) auto login to punbb when user logs into my site
3) prevent user from updating profile while in punbb
4) anything else?

Moved to integration

To automatically log users into PunBB when they log into your main site, the most straightforward thing to do would be to examine the code in login.php and include/functions.php that sets PunBB's cookies, and adapt it so that it runs when a user successfully logs into your main site.
