Topic: Long Posts Timeout in Safari.

I'm having a very intermittent problem, where users of our forum are experiencing timeouts when posting with safari. With some users it happens every time they attempt to post anything over a few lines. It seems to be consistently with safari, and, occassionaly with firefox. I am more looking to see if anyone else has experienced this problem as well, and, any advice they may have.

I have done alot of searching on this, and have found some information on apple's forums. However, I can't find anything that I can pinpoint to being the same issue.

Some of the constants seems to be mac OS X with safari/firefox, only with long posts, several sentences or more. I have yet to hear a single complaint related to posting with IE.

I apologize if this is not the correct forum for this. If additional information is required, please let me know.

Have you added any modifications to your forum?

I received some additional information from users of our forum. The problem is being experienced trying to make large posts with IE7 as well. Any idea's?

My original thought was that you had the Akismet modification installed and that was the reason for the delay, but since you don't have the plugin, I doubt the modification was installed.
Anyway, your best bet would be to enable debug mode and see if the page generation time when posting in those cases is high or not. If it is, then you need to figure out what is causing there (most likely a modification of some kind).
