Re: Forums on my site

Yup, great design.

Edit: Why is he banned? Does PunBB have ban reasons?

Re: Forums on my site

He is banned for a day for spamming links to his forum (one in Show Off is fine: several throughout the day in various forums is not).

Re: Forums on my site

Shouldn't PunBB show the ban's reason on its profile?

Re: Forums on my site

Nope, the person just gets the banned tag wink

Re: Forums on my site

Maybe this would be a nice implementation for v1.3?

no just make a user title for it, lol

Re: Forums on my site

Why not? ... a simple

Banned

would do the job.

Re: Forums on my site

Because the ban message is not necessarily meant to be shown to the general public.
What you're asking for could certainly be written as an extension though.

Re: Forums on my site

Anyway, using the title doesn't do the job. Not all browsers show tooltips on spans and anybody navigating with a keyboard will never see it.

Re: Forums on my site

i'm sorry for spamming, i was just excited to share!

Re: Forums on my site

Excited is one thing, four topics (with several hours of delay in between a couple of them) is quite another. wink
Just don't do it again. tongue

Re: Forums on my site

One thing I've noted about your site. This on the main page:

Derek Messer .net has released forums which are now available!

coupled with this in the forum footer:

© Copyright 2008 Derek Messer .net

could quite easily be misconstrued.

vouch i love it when people remove the copyright just because they edit the template and make it look a lil different they dont even change it like i did on my site to know that it isn't even a punbb site but this guy still put's the copyright on there witch i pissing me of..

put the copyright back on or your site will be removed from this forum

Re: Forums on my site

Nick, don't back seat moderate please. We don't remove forums from Show Off because they changed the visible copyright.
That being said, I changed the original post to refer to the forum only, not to the main site.

Re: Forums on my site

why? that's lame

u guys do so much work and they dont give credit and u still giv them second chance?

not humanly pce imo..

anyways your higher power so w/e smile

The fact that he removed the "Powered by PunBB" line is lame and it would be nice to have it back, but we all know it's PunBB and we don't really have an official policy like some software does of requiring that line for support, etc. If he starts claiming it's not PunBB though, I'll remove the link.

Re: Forums on my site

you know,
the only reason i have a copyright (even on the website) is to keep people from stealing ideas within my tutorials.

I am working on a few things for my website, including a page with some of the resources I use and in that I will include PunBB!

so I hope that makes everyone happy smile

Re: Forums on my site

I will also re-edit the footer and include a punbb link!

does it have to say "Powered by.."

or can I say (for instance) "Developed by.."

Re: Forums on my site

Nick: I wasn't commenting on the removal of the copyright, merely that those two parts, in conjunction, could be misinterpreted by some. Removal of the copyright isn't specifically forbidden, (although it might possibly be frowned upon).

Besides, someone who changes Rickard Andersson to Rickard A isn't exactly a fountain of innocence when it comes to 'alterations'.

There isn't a specific layout. This is the one I personally use: PunBB © 2002?2007 Rickard Andersson

Re: Forums on my site

alright everyone, i have placed the original link, can we all please now, instead of placing negative comments, give some positive ones, including what you think the style, and tutorials.

smile

Re: Forums on my site

Nick, I deleted your last post. Keep it on topic please.
