Can you add hook (in your deleted post log extension) for change query also for active topics in portal extension? (at_qr_get_topics like vf_qr_get_topics)

I was going to put up a test site to demonstrate it, but I think I found the problem. You don't connect to the hook fn_qr_get_topic_reply_count3, which is called when a new post is made -- so a topic's num_replies will be correct after a user deletes a post, but as soon as another reply is added, the num_replies is reset to the incorrect value including deleted replies.
