Topic: Guest permissions

I've changed the guest permissions in these forums. Guests are no longer allowed to post new topics. I have no good reason. I guess I just want people to register :D

Re: Guest permissions

Hrm, on our forum, although we've disallowed guests from posting replies (Guests may post replies = no) we had a guest manage to post a reply (?).  When clicking "Show more users for this IP" I noted two registered users and the guest are attached to the IP.

So, could the fact that they are using an computer or IP of a authenticated user, their cookie is allowing them to post?

What is strange though that instead of GUEST as a username on their post, they have a true username (but are not in the user list).

Odd... trying to search here to find out more about this... feature... or bug?

Cheers, thanks for your great software.

Re: Guest permissions

Could the message have been posted by a user that was later deleted? If a user is deleted, his/her posts are marked as guest posts.
