Topic: Chat instructions a noob can understand?

I just made this and I am doing well with adding forums and setting things up but I can NOT understand how to get a chat at all.  Do I download something? where do I put it? do I need to add a page and how? I cant find an understandable instruction

I have never found a good working solution for this sad
I would love love LOVE to have a solution that was working fine in 1.2 where the chat box worked as a drop-down thing at the top of the forum. You either turned it on or off and it worked really really really really well.

You can insert a shout box. some free ones: cbox.ws, myshoutbox.com, shoutmix.com, etc.

look at the shoutbox I have on my site (bottom of right column)
It's basically a very simple javascript shoutbox. It does not integrate with forum database in any way. as a matter of fact it doesn't even run in a database. The script I used is this one
Let me know if you want help integrating that one.

Sorry I do not have any sure idea about it because i not ever think on this line but i would like to say that there are no need to download any more accessories or to change setting for this purpose. big_smile
