Topic: LDAP authentication

There have been some posts about this and some dead add-on's that are no longer being developed... so what is the news for LDAP support? I have a requirement for LDAP support and unfortunately would have to part with PunBB if I can't get this feature.

Now there is no extension for LDAP support in PunBB. But you can use this extension, which was developed by a FluxBB user.

Thanks for the pointer. Have not heard of FluxBB before. Since it seems to be a fork of PunBB, what are the chances of porting that over to PunBB? LDAP support should be a core feature, not an extension. Any specific reason why LDAP is not yet in PunBB? LDAP *is* a universal protocol that is supported in quite a lot of software/applications/devices.

The extension should work fine on PunBB.
