PunBB Forums → PunBB 1.3 extensions → Full Backup Mod
I'm not certain if this exists or not ... I've searched the forums. I've found database backup mods but no full backup mods.
I'm a new convert from phpBB and I liked that I could do a full db and forum backup. Does that functionality exist in pun? I didnt see it in the documentation.

There is no functionality in PunBB core. But there is an extension called pun_admin_backup which allows to create backups of DB and forum files on *nix OS. But this extension is needed for testing. Could you please, help us test it out?
I would if I could but I dont believe my server is running that OS. I think it's just a Linux server.
Uhmm ... oops! I guess now that I think about it; that makes sense.
yes, I'd be more than happy to test it out on my forum. I have a pretty low intensity use forum that is only accessed by four people. Just for sharing ideas related to our band.
Don't forget to create backup of your DB and forum files manually before testing.
So I installed this and when I went to backup it gave me a page load error and said "the page cannot be viewed because it doesn't support this type of compression"
gzip is checked in PunBB
any idears?
I replaced the entire xml file with the one supplied and received the same error;
"Content Encoding Error
The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because it uses an invalid or unsupported form of compression.

reinstalled and the page displayed correctly.
when selecting the following;
Backup all files and DB
and checking "Leave Copy of Server"
I get an Internal Error 500
However, when I go back to the extension I see that the backups appear to have been written;
punbb_dump_20090713-090935.tar.gz Delete
punbb_dump_20090713-090924.tar.gz Delete
ZE
My forum is in French, when i installed i got an error can't access folder punbb_admin_backup/lang/Francais.
I had to copy/paste the English folder in Francais foldre.
I tried to make a backup, here is the error:
Error 500 - Internal server error
I don't have error log on my webhosting (1&1) 
We haven't developed this extension at the moment. But I hope we will finish it in the nearest feature.
