Topic: Users cannot register on the forum.

When a user tries to register on our forum. They get the following error:

"mail() [function.mail]: SMTP server response: 550 <emailaddress> No such user here in E:\inetpub\vhosts\ryarc.com\httpdocs\forum\include\email.php on line 105"

If I switch off the option to "Require verification of all new registrations by email" then it works fine, but obviously we need to leave this option enabled.

I have tried removing the smtp settings as per suggestion in a similar post http://punbb.informer.com/forums/topic/ … ail-error/ but this does not change anything.

I would appreciate any suggestions on what to chech or how to fix this issue.

Q: can you use the email adress you want the forum registrations to come from standalone? i.e. is it fully operational...

btw: if you could install the stopforumspam extension I'd be interested if that solves the spam problem - should there be one that is (and as temp solution while your issue is solved)
