Not too sure how hard this extension would be to make. But I was hoping someone could create an extension with allows you to have a forum category where everyone who posts in there is shown as 'Anonymous', and it doesn't reveal information about them.
So they can be members of the site, but just in the one forum every post in there would show as anonymous. But in the other forums it can be set so it shows their names.
I'd pay if someone helped make this.
Why not just allow guest posting for the "anonymous" forum (and moderate posts via pun_approval to catch the spam).
[Unless you expect users to very active in there and thus annoyed if they have to login-logout enter details all the time]

But a forum where the rest of the members only see the people posting as 'Anonymous'.
And still only members can post, not guests.
