In lang files for each language exists array $stop_list_fancy_simtopics with stop words - words that exclude from subject before search. (Maybe add '[Release]' for this forum?)
Need testing for query speed - extension may or not may cause load on db. On my big forum (200 000 posts) with optimized DB ext not add load.

KeyDog, yes - like this. I think without [Release] relevance will be better, but need test.
I forget, each user in profile may disable Similar Topics list.

Btw: I noticed today, if someone writes "facebook" in the 'PunBB 1.3 extensions" forum it doesn't show the threads in 'PunBB feature requests' (for example) .... so I wonder if it would be a good idea to have the similar topics shown for the WHOLE PunBB site? OR
as there is a lot of space to the right of similar topics in forum, to have rest of website similar topics on right hand side ....
Just something that might be useful....

I've disabled the "easy upload image" extension, or whatever it is called as it seemed to occupy the same space. I'm going to try and disable quick reply now and see if that helps

The conflict seems to be with quick reply
I notice there is no quick reply on the official punbb forum... has that been changed to accommodate the Fancy Similar Topics extension?

Not sure whether this is some problem with my forum settings or what... but this extension does not seem to work unless the users are logged in.
Any clarification on this would be appreciated.

Not working for logged users or not working for guest?
Default simtopics for guest disabled - u can turn it on in settings.

I have configured all the relevant settings and this feature is still not working for guests 
Edit: could it be some conflict with another extension?

I have not tested this extension, but I install it tonight, I will give my feedback if nobody did it 
I don't speak English, but Google Translate is doing pretty good.
