Hi all.
I`m wrote a new antispam extension that working transparently for users without captcha and seems to be good for blocking bot spammers. Before release i would testing it on.
Anybody have forum with spambot activities and agreed to test new antispam?

Yes, the forum I just showed you is new with little to no legit activity yet, so it is easy to play around without bothering any users. It has also had about 100 spam bot regristrants per day (4-5) per hour. I know the exact number because I set the "unconfirmed delete" to two hours and the number is almost constant. Just last night I put on the capcha extension and that almost fixed it. There were still a couple there today. So anyway, I guess this would be the perfect test bed.
What do you want me to do?

1) Download and install http://forum.iteam.ua/fancy_stop_spam.tar.bz2
2) Check extensions settings.
3) Disable all other antispam extensions.
4) In spam activity send me very simple report with type of activity - register spam or post spam.
5) Check (ones in week) webserver error log for errors from extension.
That is all.

OK, so I don't check anything then.
I've set "delete unverified users" to 24 hours and also disabled the capcha. So we're on.

Yes, I did not check any of the boxes. The default is that they are all unchecked.

OK, that's done. I'll report back on how it goes.
One thing though, that site is on shared hosting and there does not seem to be any error logs available to me. I'm referring to:

Also, there is already one spam (unverified) registration now. Presumably that came in while the settings were off. It was good to see that now though, because then I know that there is still spam (like in last week) to be blocked. I'll delete that one now (4am) and if there are none tomorrow then your plugin will definately be good.

It's been over a week now and I have not had one single spam or bot registration. This software really works.
Perhaps it was all the same bot that was responsible for the 100 per day spam registrations, I do not know. I disabled the capcha and e-mail confirmation and can easily re-enable those if I get a problem in the future. For now things are good, and it is nice that the system is completely transparent.

I've recently had to disable auto-registration due to spambots and spammers. I now require newbies to email me asking for an account.
I've downloaded the top file which is the only one that seems to provide all the directories. I've saved to desktop, uploaded to the forums folder, and nothing is showing in the extensions of 1.3.5 and nothing's changed to the registration process... what could I have done wrong?

Did you put it in /extensions/fancy_stop_spam?
Yes thanks that works. But still getting spam and bogus registrations, what have I selected wrong?

You should add some of the features in this extension for phpbb http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi … ;t=2127067 it's pretty amazing.
I have no plan to add any Exteme action like autodelete users.
