Trash can / Recycle bin

Is there a working extension that would substitute deleting posts and topics with moving them to a designated forum?

I know one can split posts to a new topic and then move that topic to the designated forum, but that's two steps instead of one.

P.S. Idea for an extension: add an option for moderators to hide posts. Hidden posts would be shown to moderators only. Also moderators would be able to unhide hidden posts.
