Topic: ANTI-SPAM CAPTCHA not working

I've tried installing the Antispam System from the admin section of the forum (I'm running 1.3.4 anti-spam installation, but using 1.3.5 version board) - it keeps saying I need to download the PHP GD Library, I think I've downloaded it (PHP 5.3.6), but don't know where to upload it in the forums directories.

Can someone advise if this is the right file and if not where the file is I need to download, and where to upload it.

Really appreciate your time.

Thanks,
Simon

Re: ANTI-SPAM CAPTCHA not working

Check webserver logs for errors.

If you need antispam — use this ext http://punbb.informer.com/forums/topic/ … stop-spam/
it more effective than Captcha

Re: ANTI-SPAM CAPTCHA not working

No spam filter ever worked for me
Ive disabled automatic registration and newbies now have to email me for an account. It works very well. No more spam at last

Re: ANTI-SPAM CAPTCHA not working

esupergood, you try latest fancy_stop_spam?

Re: ANTI-SPAM CAPTCHA not working

I have updated last week my forum from 1.2.10 to 1.3.5 and added extensions.  I am particularly keen to stop 12-16 new registrations from spammers every day plus their posts so I added Antispam System.  I have now installed, uninstalled and installed again.  Each attempt to register myself under another user name and using a rarely used e-mail shows a broken icon where the CAPTCHA GIF should be.  Why?

At least the absence of the GIF might stop all new registrations, but I do want real users to get through still.

HELP!

I have the same problem, there is no captcha showing.  sad

Re: ANTI-SPAM CAPTCHA not working

I had the same problem. I needed to have php-gd installed.
If you have access to your web server logs you should see:

PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function imagecreatetruecolor()
in /extensions/pun_antispam/securimage.php on line 458, referer: http://punsite/registration.php

if this is your problem.

Do you have access to your server to install php-gd? Which OS are you running - can make a difference on how you install the libraries.

Re: ANTI-SPAM CAPTCHA not working

This one worked for me, with reCaptcha.net support
