I like them. I agree with Frank H though.
I'm not sure about :p and :P. I think most people think of them as one and the same. The smiley for :P looks more like trailer trash with one tooth sticking out than someone who is sticking their tongue out :)
I think that :O and :D looks too similar... like the :D-smiley that punbb has.
Very nice work, they are, as someone said, a little bit warmer than other smiley sets I've seen and I think it fits in perfectly :)
I don't think the :D smilie looks "smiling" enough. And the :O smilie should have a little more round mouth.
alright, people seem to be generally confused by the different :p and :P smilies, so let's go with the tongue version for both of them - I'll drop the :P cheeky smilie.

The only one I don't like now is the :D. I think it looks better with the mouth filled with teeth. The mouth should also be arced.
Are you going to change the way the light hits them?
I cannot agree, most people use :D for happiness. I use :D for the happy smiley and :lol: (...) for the mouth filled with teeth, they are different, are they not?

arced? you mean the upper lip should bend downwards? have you looked at a "D" lately? the emoticons are supposed to represent the mood implied by the original emoticons, I think?
I tried changing the light, but it makes them look very flat in comparison - placing the light like it is now gives them more volume, makes them look more round ... if you move the light, the face shape looks more like a disc than a ball - I wanted them to have a bit of a 3D feel, I think it works well?
@SEM: so we should preserve the previous teethy smiley as

And I agree with Rickard, on the light-issue. I think they are to yellow/white as it is now... want them to be more yellow/gray-looking.
Here's what I think. :D is a big smile. A big smile is a smile with the mouth open so that you can see the teeth. :lol: is laughing out loud. When I laugh out loud, I look like this:
Yes, :lol: is not the appropiate shortcut, but it's the one I use. When I see the teeth I think "ironic" or "that was funny", but maybe it's just me :D.
Here's what I think.
