Topic: Could we do this?

Hi,

We develop PHP Auction software and are continuing receiving requests to have a forum built into the script which sells for $180.

Is it possible under the GPL license to integrate PunBB into our software and still sell it for the same price?

Needless to say we would include all the relevant copyright notices with regards to PunBB in both the script and our documentation.

Would this be permitted under the license and what other clauses are there we should be aware of?

Yes, it would be possible. However, the "catch" is that your auction software would also have to be released under the GPL. I have previously considered releasing PunBB under two licenses, the GPL and a commercial license (the code would be identical). MySQL works this way by the way. I haven't worked out any of the details for this though. If you are interested, feel free to drop me an e-mail.
