Is there a way to convert my phpnuke forum to PunBB?
Is there a script for it?

I think it's using PhpBB as forum-module, so I don't think it's gonna be any problem. I'm not really sure of how it works, but you might be able to use the phpbb-converter that's on the download-page.

Were you able to do the conversion? It seems I can't even start the script!
I really could use some help, I don't have a clue of what to do, where to put the files, etc.

I'll look at it later today. If it's phpbb, there should be no problems altering the conveter so it's working again (or make it as a new converter).

I've looked at it, and I don't think there's an easy solution. Phpnuke use PhpBB as forum-module, but I think it's heavily modified to fit phpnuke's user-database. Phpnuke's user-database might look very similar to phpbb, so maybe it's just a matter of changing some predixes in the converter.
I might look closer at it, but not today... not this weekend.

Sorry to read it is difficult to to the conversion. It is a shame, but I guess I'll have to forget about PunBB, becasue it will be impossible for me to convert by hand all the posts on my old board to PunBB.
I will try to search out there if I can find another BB similard to PunBB with the possibility for a direct conversion from PHP-NukeBB.

Seems to be some small changes to make it work. I'm adding a setting in the PhpBB-converter.

I think it's done now. Converting: categories, forums, users, topics, posts, polls and messags (not bans, as it seems to be some global phpnuke-thing).
Do you want to test it for me? If you do, keep in mind it's just a test... take backup before doing anything, and don't remove the old database when it seems to work. There's always something missing, and I don't want to write a 'fix' for the problem later on.

Hi, I just registered for the forum, now that I see I'm going to hang around here once I get PunBB working.
Thanks again so much for your generosity. There's no problem about not converting bans, this is ok.
I'm more than willing to test your converter. Please let me know what I have to do. Also please bear in mind that altought I have a decent knowledge about computers (enough to upload and install PunBB or PHP-Nuke for example) i'm not goot at all with PHP or scripts.

I just found a small "error", all users have been imported like "Administrators" (status="2")
I just did a UPDATE on the database, but maybe this can be corrected on the script...

Hello. I have the same problem, but looking into php code from converter is obvious that the converter is using "PUN DB USER" to read "PHPBB DATABASE". So, after asigning the PUN DB USER with wight access to PHP DATABASE worked perfectly.
A little more documentation from converter is needed.
How worked for me, Lets say:
-pun database will be pun_db
-pun database user will be pun_user
-phpbb database is phpbb_db
0) create database pun_db and create a pun_user, then assign pun_user to pun_db.
1) Install PUN forum, configure, check all is ok.
2) add pun_user to phpbb_db
3) Place converter in a folder under main forum (lets say PUN_PATH/conv)
4) load PUN_PATH/conv/index.php and follow instructions, fill forms, etc...

As i did say earlier ... this converting works perfectly...
Bu now i have a new one.... a forum based on CPG-Nuke....
Its not very different (or almost the same) as php nuke.
Bu when i try the converter and fill in the prefix "nuke_" or "nuke_bb" the converter says that it cant find any table?

CPG-Nuke? Never heard of it...
When you enter the prefix, and it tells you it can't find any tables, do you get a list of tables then?
