Do anyone know how to setup a mail server. I want to install in my working place.
Also need the basic ideas like how to block or allow mails with large attachments.

Is there any software available for it(Mail server), Free or even for some small amount. Should not cut my pocket.
there is software for mailserver included in windows... at least in 2000 and 2003 server and xp versions.. just check under ad/remove programs -> add/remove windows components
i am not talking about setting up a mail client, want to set a mail server.
well i can see SMTP server in IIS where bobitt says
I am using Apache here, i thinkwe cannot use IIS and Apache at a time.

bah, it works, but it seems to interfere with port 80, so not sure how it would work with your web server.
let me try to change the port...
ahh, you can change the port. i had a bit of trouble using alot of the ports with firefox, but 2095 worked fine.

Try Mercury mail server integrated as enhancement apllication in XAMPP for Windows Apache distribution with preconfigured perl, php, mysql. Available at www.apachefriends.org

i install "hmailserver" i vote for it.
now i am using Mercury. Have to fiddle more with that. Also would liek to have a look at hmailserver
i installed hmailserver and i couldn't work out how to set it to pickup my external IP :S
In 3.3, hMailServer doesn't support fetching e-mails from an external server. Support for this will be added in version 4.0 which will be released in a couple of weeks.
