Topic: Header errors...

I think that some firewalls causes problem with the PUN-headers. Norton Internet Security caused theese errors at the absolute top of Pun 1.2:

Turning of Norton solves the problem, or just turning error_reporting to error_reporting(0) instead of error_reporting(E_ALL) in common.php.

BUT, there must be another solution?

Re: Header errors...

Yes. I'll fix it in 1.2.

You really should consider getting rid of that horrible piece of software though. It appears to unset the HTTP_ACCEPT_ENCODING header for some extremely odd reason. The result is that your browser never will utilize gzip compression.

Re: Header errors...

From what I read it is the AdBlocker in NIS which is the problem rather than the firewall. The logic is ads can't be detected in compressed files. Try disabling the AdBlocker or adding PunBB to the whitelist (if there is one).

Fair enough, but why remove the header all together? Any application that relies on it will break.

Because they can get away with selling their software for £50.00 a shot and most of the people who buy it will think it was the web designers who screwed up not Symantec.

Re: Header errors...

Norton just plain sucks, it creates more problems than it solves. The minute Symantec bought out the sleeved one, all quality control went out the window.

If you're on Broadband, get yourself a Linksys router. If you're on dialup and on Windows, download SP2 and use it's built in firewall.
