Topic: Classified Ads - How would you set it up using punbb?

We need to be able to provide discussion forums PLUS include job postings - and they must not be able to reply to them in the forum category 'jobs'.

Can this be done: Make this forum readable by all; but only a select group (with special permission) can post to them?

By making it a select group; we may (at some point) charge for that particular group's permissions/level of access. Hope that makes perfect sense!

You'll be able to do it in PunBB 1.2, it has a new permission system.

The permissions are tied to forums, not categories though.

When will I be able to use/do this?   We need this feature honestly in just days. Can I download this now?


As for my original question: Please tell a beginner -how- we can do this - how shall I set the permissions / user groups (please help mewith the correct terminology here).

Try it out on a test forum though.

To change permissions on a forum:
1. go into the admin area
2. click forums in the admin menu
3. click edit next to a forum name
4. you'll see the permissions
