Hello,
I don't know if there is a topic on that, sorry if yes.
I would like that main.pl is a style, that we can have several main.pl.
For example, we could put the menus in different places for every style.
Why not in PunBB 1.2 or 1.2.1 ?
If Rickard doesn't agree, I can make a mod for that.
you mean like a main.tpl for oxygen and a different one for mercury for example?
also in 1.2 i think you can do alot more with just the css depending what you want to do it migt be possible with css
Yes, a lot, but not all. 
It isn't possible to put a different Flash animation on every style.
It is not indispensable but very useful.
well what you could do is make a thing in header.php that made it use <stylename>header.swf as a flash file. but having a different tpl for every style would complicate thigns alot for the benifit of a few users
All you would have to do is alter a couple of lines in header.php so that the style name was added to the name of the tpl file e.g. Oxygen_main.tpl. If no such file existed then it would default to main.tpl. A very simple mod.
For me it isn't indispensable but I don't know for others. I think that's a good feature.
BTW: The original example given was to be able to put the menu in different places for different styles. You can do that anyway with css. Remember POSITION: absolute is not a no go area.
