Topic: First install of punbb

I just stumbled across PunBB today while looking for a slimmer alternative to phpBB and all I have to say is "wow" this little t hing is great. I love the simplicity of the forum and it fits very well with the minimalistic style of my website. In fact, I almost feel as if this isn't really much of a "show off" beacuse I didn't have to do amny modifications ot the style at all to get the look I wanted. I'm really liking PunBB so far. smile

Looks nice Kelli, what are you using for your front end CMS?

Re: First install of punbb

Thanks. smile The rest of the site is all custom-built. I plan to one day release it as a CMS, but right now, I haven't even gotten around to finishign the backend. I'm still doing most things from phpMyAdmin. I need to get that finished and add some support for different themes, then I'll toss it out there for download. I'd hoped to have it done by now, but I've been super-busy.

Excellent. Exactly the sort of integration I was hoping to see.  If I were designing a cms to integrate with PunBB thats what it would look like (hopefully).

Paul, the way most people are integrating the forum is to wrap the forum itself into the site's scheme.

But let's say I wanted to integrate the forum into a site's scheme, like in the content div where items would normally display. Is there a way to do it elegantly and while staying away from iframes?

Bert: I would always do it by merging the sites markup with main.tpl to create a custom main.tpl file.
