Topic: New Post Indicator

im sure this is probably an easy thing to change but ive been searching and searching and cant seem to work it out......
i want it so that when i have read a topic the [style]_new.png    picture disapears from my viewforum.php ..... it seems to be on some sort of timer at the moment but havent been able to work out where the code is.....
any help wud be much appreciated.....thanks

Currently it's updated when your last visit is set (all posts after your last visit are "new")
