The BBCode syntax in the message is incorrect. Missing end tag for \[code\].

That means you tried to post a piece of code and forgot to place [ / code ] at the end (without the spaces).

I encountered the same bug today.
I usually use the code tag to display some unparsed BB tag and I can't anymore.
You can reproduce the bug easily with this example:
Try to post this with the {} replaced by [], you can't anymore.
{code}Some code with some {code}code{/code} in it{/code}

That's not an error. "{code}Some code with some {code}code{/code} in it{/code}" has never been accepted.
The change in 1.2.5 is that {code} is not allowed within a code block. http://dev.punbb.org/changeset/161

It also broke the code tag if you type a little bit before using it
