Why not add a "I'm feeling lucky" button to the search page?
It is actually one of the best features of google.

Interesting. However, "I'm Feeling Lucky" is a trademark of Google, so you'd have to give it another name. Nice concept, though.

instead of that just search by posts instead of topics? they you get the advantage of seeing the post but not the disavatage of only seeing the one result?
