Topic: install.php opening as source?

let's start by saying that i'm not very techy, and that i did run a forumsearch for this.

I've copied the punBB 1.2.6 files to my server, and then when i want to open install.php, it opens the source. how can i make it open the page?
I do realise how stupid this sounds, mind you.
i don't know the specs of the server i'm hosted on, and the website doesn't seem to show them either: http://webqualityhost.net/

Well, I don't think your host supports PHP

But every plan  they have includes this:
# phpwiki Supported
# phpmyadmin Included

could it be that their php is outdated?
i can't contact them about it, because i'm being hosted by the guy that's paying the bills, along with other persons, so i myself don't have hosting with them.

or make a very simple php page like 

<?php echo "Hello" ?>

and name it something.php4, or
something.phtml and see if one of those work.
If it does then it's their webserver settings.
In that case either you can convince them to change them or you'd have to rename all files to the ending tat works and change all links in the files accordingly. Lots of work...
or change provider.

We do support php but it wasn't enabled for the account in question.  Normally php is setup for all accounts but this was a special account setup for a friend.  Anyway, the problem is now resolved.
