Topic: Serious problem : Posts disappearing ???

Hi

I installed my punbbs forum a week or so ago. I had two new members signing up today, they both made a post top a topic, and both the posts disappeared !

They are gone from the database. But I have an email (subscription) confirming that they wrote a post, and the number of posts on their user profiles also shows 1. If you try to see their posts the systems doesn't show any.

What is happening here ???

Are you sure they didn't delete their posts?

100% sure. (I am a developer myself, and I can promise you I didn't delete them)

I have 2 emails confirming they have been on the board before. It seems like it happened after someone added another reply to the same thread. And in the database you can see that 2 id's are missing in the sequence of post id's. They are simply gone !

OK- sorry - I just check with the people posting them if they have deleted them themselves (I don't believe so though, shouldn't the number of posts for them be sat back to zero if they did delete their posts themselves ?)

If someone deletes a post their post count doesn't change i.e. it shows the total number of posts they made not the number of posts from them in the database.

Why don't you register yourself as an ordinary member and see if you can duplicate the problem.
