Topic: Custom news portal

Hi everyone. I made a little php script that parses the last five posts in my 'news' forum, and creates nice little news tidbits on the index page of my website. It makes a clickable topic and shows the date it was posted, shows the news message itself, and even shows the user who posted it, with their avatar to boot. Also it shows how many 'comments' the news story got (eg num of replies).

I created this before i found out about the extern.php thinger, altho since this works, I'm just sticking with my system for now. I'm looking into integrating the forums into my entire site now, and having the punbb username/password be used for all the services of my site. I'm just in the process of redesigning the website in fact, after being pissed off with my old apache+phpbb, i'm now on lighttpd+punbb! big_smile big_smile big_smile anyways the site isn't much yet but I thought since the news stuff is working I'll show yous, and if anyone wants the php sources just email me i like sharing smile
