Topic: What is planned for PunBB 1.3 then?
I don't see as much hype for it as there was for 1.2
Is it still early days? It's been a long time since I posted regularly.

Well, here's a list of a few things you can expect in 1.3:
- Better markup and CSS (less markup, more accessible etc)
- "Fancy URLs" (via mod_rewrite)
- Proper extension support
- New topic read marking
- Post moderation (maybe user registration moderation)
- Multiple moderator groups
- Improved feeds (topic feeds, RSS, Atom, XML etc)
- "Translatable" admin interface
- Per-style templates
That's about it. On top of that there are of course lots and lots of minor tweaks and improvements.

hey i think there should be an internal pm system in punbb plus a search engine managing section (like ipb)

Probably something where you give it a user agent/IP list and if a guest matches that, they get fed a certain style and are marked as a certain bot

I plan on making the extension system in such a way that PMs and polls are possible. What this means is that PunBB 1.3 won't "ship" with those features, but installing them won't require you to edit any scripts.

How much change will be made with the .tpl files? if any?

One potential change regarding the tpl files is that each style will have its own set of tpl files.

Will user selectable forums (a per user setting for which forums are visible) be in 1.3? I would love to be able to deselect the test forum and all the international forums on punbb.org to make my new posts list less cluttered.

One of the reasons i dislike phpBB is the endless template files...

I think it would be nice to offer a way for you to migrate a users posts [via drop down menu] to some other member before you delete their account. This would be on the member delete page, in addition to the checkbox where you can choose to leave posts, or delete them when you delete the member.
