Topic: Call me stupid if you like but....

I've searched the forum and I can't seem to find any definitive answer to this, least not in any terminology I can understand.... 

My query is this....
Does PunBB allow for private groups who can see categories/forums hidden from the general public?  If the answer to this is YES would somebody explain how a) Create and populate a private group with members, b)  Setup a private category/forum and c) set permissions on that forum so that only a specified group can view it.

Apologies if this is really base stuff but I just can't figure it out!

without mod, only moderators and admin can have access to a category that public visitors can't have access to.

And yes, PunBB does allow for groups like that
You would create a group, then edit the forum and assign that group permission to read (and that regular members/guests can't) and then change the user group for people you want to see the forum to the new group
