Topic: Verify registrations but allow users to specify their password?

I'm not sure if this is a how-to or a feature request, but I'd like to figure out how to allow users to define their own passwords while registering, but also force them to respond to the verification e-mail to confirm a legitimate e-mail address.

Is this possible?
