Topic: *.tpl-files

I try to add my own footer at the template files but I can not open the files. I tried it with a text application and with Adobe GoLive. What do I do wrong?

They are just text files. Open them with any text editor, Notepad for example.

I work on a Mac and TextEdit doesn't open it right...

Well, I solved the problem by editing the footer.php in the root. This also did the job... Thanks for your help!
