Topic: Intergration with SIPortal.

Hi,

A while back we made YAP (Yet Another Portal) for the SMF forum.
The problem with YAP was I couldnt touch any of the SMF code to make it.
Im asking permission to release SIPortal which uses the PunBB forum system.

In some areas in the portal there is or will be modifications to the PunBB source code and addidtions to the database.

SIPortal will include features such as.
Front Page News - already implemented
Custom Blocks edited via admin panel. - in developement
Custom Pages edited via admin panel. - in developement
Guestbook - in developement
Downloads - in developement

Will actually currently I went behind the backs of the rest of the dev team.

The name of the portal may change.  I have to speak to the rest of the team if this is the route they want to take.

If they agree then I will need permission in advance.

PunBB is open-source under GPL, so you can change everything except for the copyright notice in the source code wink

The most important part is that you don't delete this in any of PunBB's original pages:

Rickard has allowed you to remove the Copyright showed on the main page, but prefers if it stays wink

consider waiting on a final release until 1.3 is done then you might not have to touch ANY source.

The markup and css has changed dramatically. 1.3 will also have an extension system so modding won't be necessary in some circumstances.
